Q&A 4 – The process of working with Schenkar Construction

Process. Very common question, Alex, what are the next steps if we want to move forward with Schenkar Construction? Fundamentally speaking, we’re always going to start with design first. We start with conceptual design, we move on to schematic design. At that point, there’s going to be a front runner in the concept that we want to develop further. Once we’ve established that architecturally, we send that off to structural engineering. They handle the structural engineering calculations, and we’re ready for the permit submission drawings. Once those are finalized, we double-check that work, we took a look at the budget and costing, and then we’re ready for submission to whatever municipality we need to, to obtain our permit. Then we move forward and we’re ready to build.
