Segment 7 – Refinishing and prepping custom doors for paint

Welcome back. One of my favorite parts about the job is being in the field. . Here we are on the job again, another 9,000 thousand square foot custom remodel in Seattle. It’s an exciting time, because we’re onto the painting process and here are the custom doors. These custom doors were hand milled for this custom project.
We have three different kinds of doors; we’ve got a flat panel door, solid core and then we have a more traditional shaker-style door that has inset molding. As we move down to the end we have a louvered door which is to be used for some type of HVAC or mechanical room so it has ventilation coming through.
All of these are handmade and they are crafted beautifully. They all have to be sanded, bonded, knocked down, trimmed and ready for paint. So it takes a lot of time to be able to do these doors. As you can see, they’re all laid out individually. They all get very special attention to each part of the process to guarantee we have a great painting product.
