Segment 9 – Alex’s Involvement During The Painting Process

Here we are again. Alex Schenkar, Schenkar Construction Design/Build. The next couple segments are going to be exciting. I’m going to take you into the field to show you the in-depth process of the detail on the job. One of my favorite parts about the job is going out in the field. I’m in the field four or five times a week, primarily for the sake of communication and quality control.
I want to make sure that I’m communicating with the crews. I understand what’s going on, on each job every single day, and I’m checking in to make sure that they have the resources necessary to complete their jobs. Also, one of the key priorities is quality control. Whenever I’m in a home, I’m looking at every single detail. In this particular case, we’re on to the painting segment. This is a very detailed part, but before we start painting there’s the painting prep.
That involves the caulking, the pudding, the sanding and the masking. So every single time before we go on to a final coat, I always want to stop by ask the crews, find out what the status is and have them tell me if there’s anything else they need. This is a lot of detail that goes into painting, and I want to make sure that on the final coat we have absolutely the best quality product being moved forward and that the client is going to be happy. Thanks for stopping by, and we’ll see you out in the field.
